Symbiosis International University (SIU) was established in 1971 by Dr. S. B. Mujumdar in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Initially, it began as the Symbiosis Society, and later in 2002, it was conferred the status of a Deemed-to-be-University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
